What is your primary product or service?
Strategic technology consulting and design for corporations and hospital and medical, higher education, and government facilities.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
EDI started as an environmental engineering company focused on the indoor environment. Over several years in the late 1990's we decided that our future was in integrating technology systems for all our vertical markets. We sold the environmental portion of the business and focused on what we do now.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We have managed to capture some of the best talent in our field. EDI is a great place to work and grow. We are family friendly, fair and ethical in our dealings with everyone, offer a business casual environment, and targeted company paid training. All employees have a coach with whom they meet regularly to discuss any issues and their progress on their career path. And we like each other and have a lot of fun.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have two offices: one in Seattle and our headquarters in Atlanta. As a consulting firm, however, we meet our clients where they are, whether in the great 48, Canada, the Middle East, South America, or elsewhere. We can be there in the flesh (as we are frequently) or by videoconference (a handy option especially in this era of fuel scarcity).
